History

After the murder of her father, Ryuuko Matoi has been wandering the land in search of his killer. Following her only lead—the missing half of his invention, the Scissor Blade—she arrives at the prestigious Honnouji Academy, a high school unlike any other. The academy is ruled by the imposing and cold-hearted student council president Satsuki Kiryuuin alongside her powerful underlings, the Elite Four. In the school's brutally competitive hierarchy, Satsuki bestows upon those at the top special clothes called "Ultima Uniforms," which grant the wearer unique superhuman abilities.

Thoroughly beaten in a fight against one of the students in uniform, Ryuuko retreats to her razed home where she stumbles across Senketsu, a rare and sentient "Kamui," or God Clothes. After coming into contact with Ryuuko's blood, Senketsu awakens, latching onto her and providing her with immense power. Now, armed with Senketsu and the Scissor Blade, Ryuuko makes a stand against the Elite Four, hoping to reach Satsuki and uncover the culprit behind her father's murder once and for all.

Information: Ryuuko Matoi transfers as a second-year student into Honnouji Academy, an Academy ruled by power and authority. She wields a huge single-bladed scissor, and demands to know the owner of the second half. As she remembers, the wielder of the lost half of the scissor blade is the same person who killed her father.

Information: Satsuki Kiryuuin is an 18-year-old woman and the Student Council President of Honnouji Academy. She rules the school with an iron fist and assesses the students' abilities, holding the position/authority to assign the powerful Ultima Uniforms.

Name: Mako Mankanshoku

Information: A second year student who is quite attached to Ryuko. She is often taken hostage or punished by other members of the academy. Because rank in the school determines ones living conditions, Mako resides in the poorer "slums" of the city with her mother, father (who is a back alley doctor), and her delinquent younger brother.

Information: A living sailor uniform Ryuuko finds beneath her house. Senketsu is a Kamui (神衣 lit. "God Clothes"), an outfit that provides its wearer with godlike abilities in exchange for their blood. He has the power to transform into an indestructible suit of armor, albeit with a skimpy appearance, much to Ryuuko's embarrassment. His name, given to him by Ryuuko, literally means "fresh blood."

Information: Ira Gamagoori is the Disciplinary Committee Chair, and one of the Four Elite who bear 3 star uniforms. He is easily recognizable because of his height; being 2.69 meters tall (8.82 feet) makes him the tallest person in the entire series.

Information: Uzu Sanageyama is the Athletic Committee Chair. He fights with a shinai, a bamboo training sword in addition to his 3-Star Ultima Uniform.

Name: Shirou Iori

Information: Shirou Iori is the president of the Sewing Club. His uniform is unique in that it is the only Two-Star Goku Uniform so far not to have any red elements in it. He is also always seen wearing a transparent orange mask.
